Nintendo Gunning for Sony?

Edge magazine has reportedly featured an article which states that Nintendo could be launching a version of the Wii with DVD playback. Now this could be an interesting approach to divert later PS3 take-upers to the Nintendo Wii.

I see the Wii not only taking up the novice game and the super-mass-appeal area but also the middle-ground. And to be honest, I don't think it's a bad tactic.
