200,000 UK Wii's sold & despatched

The Mirror reports that 200,000 Wii's were sold over the Christmas period - I'd read that as sold and actually dispatched, however!

I saw the demand for the Wii Console as significantly higher than that figure given the amount of emails and feed back we had.

The Mirror also reports that over 700,000 handheld DS and DS Lite units were sold. So the DS was last year's best selling games console.

Another interesting fact that was that 70% of Wii owners also bought The Legend of Zelda - wow that's a staggering 140,000 copies!

Nintendo commented that the "DS and Wii sold at staggering rates. We're now facing stock shortages but are doing everything possible to combat this."
